I take this opportunity to thank the 2016 Executive committee members for helping in the administration of the church and wish the 2017 Executive committee members all the success under new Vicar Rev. Liju John.
Family is very important to us all, but don’t you think that the values and the stability of the homes are drastically altered and it challenges the nature of the family life. How are we going to counteract the influences or how can we pass the beacon of faith to the next generation? Isn’t it a major concern? Parents have the most powerful , governing effect in the life of their children. It’s like a recording that begins in their minds from the time of conception and keeps running throughout their life. This is both encouraging and sobering. We have to remember that: 1. Children are impacted more by what we communicate with our attitudes and actions than they are by the words. Timothy followed his spiritual father Paul’s footsteps (2 Tim. 3: 10 - 11). 2. Christian life demands consistency i.e., home, work place and community life demands same attitude and practice. (1 Pet 2: 1 - 2). 3. Mutual respect and honor is required in our homes by the Word of God. (Eph. 5: 22-23) . This develops sense of security and confidence. 4. Honesty and transparency increases our value before the kids. Apologizing even before kids is not a sign of weakness but it increases their respect towards us when we are honest to admit our failures. Transparency gives our children the freedom to express their thoughts and feelings when they see any inconsistency in us. Children need the stability that comes from a home founded on biblical truth that is exemplified in word, attitude and deed. Although we will never be perfect parents, we have a perfect heavenly Father who teaches, guides, and trains us along the way.
