Vicar's Message for the Month
Dearly beloved in Christ,
“Once again our God has given us an opportunity to meditate the passion, death and resur-rection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
This is the time of commemoration. Christians all around the world commemo-rate the suffering of Jesus every year. We remember Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem city, the experience of Gethsemane, the Last Supper, the Trial, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, His burial and resurrection. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the basis of Christian faith and Christian exis-tence. The lent season is the time of meditation.
“My God, My God, why you have forsaken me ?” This is the cry of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. It was during the time of darkness that Jesus had been made, to bear our sins for us. We will not be forsaken because the savior was forsaken in our place. We will not be forsaken because of His promise to never leave or forsake us. We will not be forsaken because of His abiding and eternal presence with us. We will not be forsaken because of His purpose to work all things together for the good of those who love Him. His purpose is that we might be conformed to the image of His son. In spite of all our circumstances, remember God will not forsake you. When you go through trials, your circum-stances can deceive you into thinking God has forsaken you. But the Bible promises us that He will never forsake you. When you feel forsaken, remember that God is always true to His word and will accomplish His purpose of con-forming you to the image of His son. God made us in His image and has placed His Holy spirit within us. We are made to glorify Him, keep clean of sin so God can work in us and through us.
Let us pray to the Lord “O Lord help us to face trials and tribulations with courage of mind and spirit as you did face it on the cross Deliver us from all the temptations to avoid them or dilute them with worldly measures. Help us to pray for our enemies and love them as you have taught us. When darkness sweeps over me, help me to bear in mind that Jesus was crucified on the cross for me”
May Lord Almighty Bless you
